Mobile Protection

HDT is a proven leader in the development of mobile protective air filtration systems. Our equipment is routinely deployed worldwide to protect personnel, equipment and other assets from the effects of a sudden release of CBRN agents. These products and systems were initially developed for the military in an atmosphere of stringent accountability and have been thoroughly tested against live agents under the most demanding field conditions — and proven reliable.

HDT offers several CBRN collective protection filter systems designed specifically for use in mobile applications. Depending on the vehicle or temporary structure being protected, one or more of these systems will provide a consistent flow of clean, breathable air to personnel working inside a toxic-free area (TFA).

From size and weight to mounting specifications, HDT’s family of mobile filter units can provide a solution for every situation. A solution is also available for applications where mounting a CBRN filtration system on the exterior of a vehicle or shelter is not possible.

Small Toxic-Free Areas (TFA) and Temporary Shelters

HDT offers several CBRN collective protection filter systems for TFAs and other smaller mobile applications. Our M93 Gas Particulate Filter Unit (GPFU) and H200-24 GPFU collective protection systems can be designed into a TFA to provide up to 200-cfm of clean breathable air. Applications for these units would include TFAs Command and Control (C2) rooms or mobile vans used by first responders or emergency teams operating from enclosed vehicles within a contaminated area.

Ideal for moble laboratories and small communication shelters, the H100-224-30 GPFU system with control module and 100-cfm filter canister provides protection for individuals gathered in a small TFA and can protect groups of 5 to 20 people depending on activity level and required duration in a TFA. They are also recommended for emergency vehicles and structures capable of maintaining positive pressure while operating in the contaminated area.

HDT also offers the H200-24 GPFU with a 200-cfm capacity, which can support larger groups of personnel for extended periods of time.

In both cases, HDT’s ASZM-TEDA carbon filters can maintain efficiency greater than 99.999% for up to three years of continuous use if not exposed to toxic agents. HDT HEPA filters maintain efficiency for an average of two to five years depending on operating conditions. What's more, we design filter systems for both continuous duty and standby operation. The latter are activated only when there is a greater likelihood of a CBRN incident.
