M13 Particulate Filter

HDT's M13 is one of the smallest and lowest flow combination filters used for CBRN collective protection.
  • 12-cfm rated airflow
  • ASZM-TEDA carbon media
  • Panel shape filters
  • Steel container provides filter integrity
  • Laboratory tested/field proven

The M13 particulate filter is one of the standard filters for the M8A3 12-cfm CBRN filtration unit. The M8A3 provides purified air to individual vehicle crew members when positive cabin pressure cannot be maintained. It is used as a backup CBRN system in many armored vehicles and as a primary system in tactical vehicles that do not have an enclosed cabin or require an open cabin for operation.

In the M8A3 CBRN filtration unit, the M13 filter is housed within the M2A2 air purifier, which also contains a blower and an inertial dust separator (cyclone). Contaminated air passes through the fan and cyclone to the M13 particulate filter and finally through the M12A2 gas filter before being distributed to vehicle crew via air supply hoses.

The M13 particulate filter utilizes a glass microfiber media per U.S. military specification MIL-F-51079 to remove toxic particles, chemical agents in aerosol form and bio-matter at an efficiency rate of 99.97% at 0.3 microns.
