A: Our shelters have the most advanced frame support system technology available today. Both the folding frame system (Base-X) and the inflatable system (Vertigo) have patented technologies that allow for the advanced performance. These shelters have been proven through years of deployments in the harshest environments. Our shelters have unparalleled mobility, design flexibility and durability.Q: Is there more than one shelter size?
A: The shelters range in size from personal tents to corps-level command and control (C2) complexes. They are available in 100-, 200-, 300-, 500- or Dome-series. No matter what the size, though, HDT Expeditionary Systems’ shelters offer the same level of interconnectivity, durability and ease of deployment.Q: What are HDT Expeditionary Systems’ deployable shelters made of?
A: We have two primary types of systems: those that are fully inflatable, incorporating either our air cell or our recently added AirBeam technology; and those that are based on our frame system, which incorporates an outer cover and an inner liner.The frame system is made with an aviation-grade aluminum frame to provide maximum strength in a compact, lightweight design; locking hubs and load-bearing ceiling points in order to increase durability; and interchangeable frame components.
The inflatable systems are made with either our air cell shelters or our AirBeam™ system, which is a technology that uses a fiber-reinforced elastomeric composite capable of containing high gas pressure and resisting bending. It can be formed in a multitude of different shapes, allowing for many unique shelter uses.
